There are four Munros west of Lochnagar and East of Glen Shee in an area called the White Mounth. All 4 hills can be climbed in a single long day. Better to split the pleasure. The first two hills, Carn an t-Sagairt Mor and Carn a Choire Boidheach can be climbed form the A93 in Glen Clunie.
There is ample parking just off the A93 at Auchallater.
A good track can be followed, by bike, down Glen Callater to Loch Callater. When Callater Lodge is reached take the steep north east path that ascends the north west slopes of Carn an t'Sagait Mor. Follow this path as it climbs, traverses, then climbs again the north west slops of Carn an t'Sagait Mor. The path does not ascend the hill, so follow the north west ridge to the summit. (9kms. 680m. 4hrs. 0min.)
Descend the south east ridge of to reach, again, Jock's road. Follow this until it reaches the bealach at NO227849. From here is is a short distance south to the summit of Carn a'Coire Boidhead. This hill has a more impressive name than appearance, it is a typical rounded hill. (2.0kms. 200m. 1hrs. 0min.)
To descend, retiurn to Jocks Road by walking north from the summit. Once the path is found, follow it west skirting around Carn an t'Sagait Mor and descend to Lochcallater Lodge. From here follow the track back, possibly by bike. (10kms. 00m. 3hrs. 0min.)
