CORVID-19 is still with us even though most restrictions have been relaxed in Scotland. The risks of infection are lower if outside, there is still a risk if mixing in large groups. Even so, please do not go out in the Cairngorms, or anywhere else, if you are showing signs of Corvid-19 and when out walking make sure you give people space - 1m at least and preferable 2m. Remember that if it feels too crowded then you can walk away and try somewhere else, the hills will still be there tomorrow. Also remember the MRT. They will come out to rescue you but they should not have to put themselves into danger from this virus.
A number of these routes start and finish at the main Cairngorm car park. Currently there is significant building work being undertaken in repairing the funicular. The site is fenced off to keep people out but there are routes across the work for walkers. Please keep out of this dangerous building site and follow the contractor's instructions.

These two rounded hill sit in the middle ground between Glen Shee and Glen Doll and can be climber from either. The route here goes from the Glen Shee side which is higher, and takes in Cairn of Claise.
On the north side of the Glen Shee ski development there is a small car park on the east, the first break in the armco.
From the roadside descend to the river and cross by the footbridge. Follow the path up the hillside to the east of Sron na Gaoithe and then onto the ridge. Turn north to follow the path to Cairn of Claise. (4.0kms. 570m. 2hrs. 20min.)
Follow the line of the county boundary, which has a track (wet) along most of the length. This path goes downhill to the col north of Ca Whims and then up to the summit of Tolmount. (3.0kms. 80m. 1hrs. 10min.)
Return back along the boundary to the col at 886. Then turn south to climb the slopes of Ca Whims. Continue east to the summit of Tom Buidhe. (2.0kms. 200m. 1hrs. 0min.)
Cairn of Claise stands in the way of the return and although the walker can climb it again it can be missed. Return to Ca Whims and then to the col at .886. Now follow the path up to Cairn of Claise but towards the top cut off left, SW, cutting off the summit and reach the lochan on the ridge. Continue along the ridge and then make your way down along the uphill path missing out Sron na Gaoithe. Cross the footbridge and return to the car park. (7.5kms. 170m. 2hrs. 30min.)
